HOUSTON -- We're heading south of the border for today’s Food Truck Friday.
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside Tacos Tierra Caliente you'll meet a group of women who have fed hungry Houstonians for over a decade.
The group has operated in Montrose for nine years.
Maria Samano is the lead cook at the taco truck located on West Alabama. She doesn’t speak much English, so she lets her food do the talking.
She says all of the tacos are equally popular with everyone.
The truck serves authentic Mexican street tacos from Samano’s home state of Guerrero, including tongue, barbacoa, al pastor, and fajita.
Samano worked as a family’s private chef before moving to Houston – her dishes reflect years of experience in the kitchen crafting flavorful combinations.
And for just a $1.50 it’s a bargain that’s made Tacos Tierra Caliente a Houston favorite for anyone, on any budget.
