HOUSTON – Bus routes are changing in the Spring Branch Independent School district due to a flu outbreak among bus drivers.

The district is down about a dozen bus drivers and now it is searching for part-time replacements.

The district sent out an email and called parents to warn them that their child’s scheduled bus for drop off or pick up may be delayed.  The district said the driver shortage mainly affects elementary school routes.

But they said the problem is twofold because the district already had about a dozen driver vacancies.

School officials are asking parents to be patient and to contact the transportation department at 713-251-1060 if they have any questions.
