HOUSTON—Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire that engulfed a home in north Houston Friday night.

Around 10 p.m., firefighters pulled up to the house on 34th and found it in flames. They say it was difficult to make their way into the house to battle that blaze.

"We had burglar bars, the materials inside. We never could get more than five feet inside, either side of the house, front or back," said District Chief Chris Chavez with HFD.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Arson investigators are still trying to figure out what caused it.
