Firefighter suffers heat exhaustion battling west Houston house fire

HOUSTON –- A firefighter was treated at the scene of a house fire in west Houston after he suffered a case of minor heat exhaustion, the Houston Fire Department said.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire broke out around 3:15 a.m. Monday at a vacant home on Blue Willow Drive at Cranbrook Road.

The first firefighters on the scene found large flames shooting from the back of the home, which was listed for sale. It took about 30 minutes to knock out the fire.

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
