HOUSTON - A Houston firefighter is recovering from a grisly injury he suffered while fighting a house fire on Friday night in northeast Houston.
The accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. at a home on Onslow at Calgary when the firefighter was using a chainsaw to cut a hole in the roof to ventilate the home.
The firefighter lost his balance and fell off the one-story home. As he fell, the chainsaw fell with him, which severed part of his ear.
He was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors were able to sew it back on.
