HOUSTON—Firefighters rushing to an emergency Thursday night didn’t get far after their fire truck hit a man walking near their firehouse.
The firefighters at Fire Station 31 were responding to a house fire when the truck struck a man in his 30s just after 7 p.m. in north Houston.
The fire department did not say whether the man was in the street or on a sidewalk. The firefighters jumped out the truck and immediately assisted the victim.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The Houston Police Department Accident Division was investigating the case.
