Fire reported at northeast Houston recycling facility

HOUSTON—The Houston Fire Department was called to a large trash fire Monday at the Global Waste Services recycling facility in northeast Harris County.

The fire was reported at about 8:16 a.m. in the 7100 block of E. Mount Houston Road.

Views from Air 11 showed several large piles of recycled cardboard and plastic on fire in a recycling yard. The fire spread to nearby storage containers as well.

There were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
