HOUSTON – More than a dozen residents were displaced Thursday after a fire raced through an apartment complex in north Harris County.

Firefighters battled the blaze around 3:30 p.m. at the Harbor Ridge Apartments located in the 23000 block of Imperial Valley near Parramatta.

At least sixteen units were destroyed or heavily damaged in building number 6. Residents said a plumber was working in a unit next door and whatever the plumber was working on caught fire. They said they tried to put it out, but it billowed again and raced up a wall.

Everyone was able to safely escape and no serious injuries were reported.
