HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A massive fire destroyed an apartment building on Friday afternoon in northwest Harris County.

It happened around 2 p.m. in the 5700 block of W. Mount Houston Road..

Air 11 was live over the scene. There was significant damage to the top floor of the building, and the units underneath had smoke and water damage as well.

“The fire went to 3‐alarms for manpower and several departments assisted,” said Lt. Dean Hensley with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.

There were no reports of injuries or a possible cause. The Red Cross was on the scene assisting displaced residents.
