CONROE, Texas – A father was arrested on charges of injury to a child after his 13-month-old died from injuries sustained while in his custody, according to police.
Conroe Police officers were dispatched to the home of Willie Jackson, 22, in reference to a child not breathing.
Upon arrival, officers found relatives performing CPR on the child per 911 operator instructions. EMS arrived on scene and transported the child to Conroe Regional Medical Center. The child was then flown by Life Flight to Texas Children’s Hospital.
The child succumbed to internal injuries and died Wednesday morning.
Investigators determined that the child had been home alone with the father until the father contacted relatives, due to the child not breathing. Jackson was arrested with a $200,000 bond. Further charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
