HOUSTON—Houston police are trying to find a missing mother who hasn’t been seen, or heard from, for several days.

Friends and family members of Michelle Warner on Wednesday said they were growing more anxious by the hour.

“She would never ever go this long without talking to somebody,” said Stephanie Helton, who’s known the 31-year-old since grade school. “She loved to talk. We’ve pretty muched talked to everyone she knows, and no one has had contact with her.”

Warner and her estranged boyfriend lived together with their 3-year-old son, in an apartment located in the 7200 block of Bellerive in southwest Houston.

According to authorities, the estranged boyfriend said she stormed out of the apartment following an argument on Saturday. According to authorities, he left town to stay with family members near Odessa and took their child with him.

“It doesn’t make sense,” said Russell Johnston, the missing woman’s uncle. “There’s a lot of things that Michelle would do but nothing like that.”

After a few days, a missing person’s report was filed.

Family members said detectives who entered the apartment observed that the carpets had been freshly doused with bleach.

HPD homicide detectives expected to meet with investigators from the missing person’s division on Thursday.

“All I know is that I’m scared that something terrible has happened,” said Scott Russell, who also called Warner a close friend.
