CONROE, Texas – A family of four was killed after a vehicle collision early Saturday morning on state Highway 105 in Montgomery County.
State troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety said that at about 5:30 a.m., Kevin Golden, 40, of Roman Forest, was driving east in his 2003 Dodge Ram pickup on Hwy. 105 when he came down the overpass and veered into the westbound lanes colliding with a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta.
Jennifer Clouse, 27, of Cleveland, was driving the Jetta and was taking her husband, Nathan, to work in Conroe. Their children, son Jordan, 6, and daughter Bailey, 8, were riding in the backseat.
The Jetta slammed into the passenger door of the pickup flipping it upside down with the engine being thrown from the truck.
All four family members died at the scene. Golden was trapped in his truck and had to be cut out by firefighters.
Due to the weather conditions, a medical helicopter was no available, so he was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
DPS does not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but said that the weather did play a part.
