HOUSTON—Family and friends have dedicated themselves to legal justice for a 17-year-old murder victim.
Javier Torres was shot to death Saturday morning in the 20400 block of Eagle Nest Falls.
Three men were arrested in connection to his death, including a father and son. They were supposed to be in court Monday, but only family members and friends of the deceased showed up.
They say they don’t plan to miss a court date.
"We’re going to be here every step of the way. No matter if it’s five minutes in court or five hours," said Mandi Guerrero, a family friend. "Javi was a silly kid. He’s full of joy. He was always making us laugh and cracking us up. He had a really serious side."
On Monday, it was unclear what led up to the shooting.
