STAFFORD, Texas – No one was injured when a gunman opened fire on a group of teens during a party Friday night in Stafford, deputies said.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, there was a large crowd of high school aged students inside the Palms Banquet Hall, located in the 600 block of Murphy Road, around 11 p.m. as part of a party advertised on social media.
Officers with the Missouri City Police Department were working security at the event when the gunman walked into the hall and started shooting, deputies said. No one hit by the suspect’s shots.
The MPD officers returned fire, but the suspect fled without being hit, deputies said.
The teens at the event were held for a couple of hours at the hall for questioning before being released. It is still unknown why the suspect shot at the hall or who he was.
