AUSTIN, Texas—Jordan Clark had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Fort Bend Bush won the Class 5A state championship 65-58 over Garland Lakeview Centennial.

Darius Richardson scored 25 points for Bush (35-4). Clark and Richardson combined for 10 points in a 14-2 run late in the fourth quarter. Bush (34-4) trailed 48-47 with 4:33 to play before Clark’s tip-in started the run.

The run capped a wild fourth quarter. The teams one-point leads five times before Bush pulled away.

Chris Jones scored 19 points to lead Centennial.

Centennial led 26-25 at the start of the third and pushed the lead as high as nine points in the quarter. Bush’s Cameron Ridley finished an alley-oop with a thunderous dunk before Centennial went on a 10-2 run. Bryan Lipsey and Jones made 3-pointers to push Centennial’s lead to 42-33.

Bush quickly fought back and rallied with a burst of its own. Bush led 43-42 when Rodshard Davis converted a 3-point play, then made two more free throws with 5:59 left to play. Davis was the hero of Bush’s semifinal victory when his two free throws with 1.3 seconds left in overtime lifted Bush to a 45-43 win over Flower Mound Marcus.

The fireworks were just getting started. The teams traded the lead four times over the next two minutes. But three turnovers by Centennial helped Bush’s game-clinching run and Clark’s follow of a missed shot put Bush up 61-50 with 54 seconds to play.

Chris Copeland and Ryan Williams each scored 12 points for Centennial (33-4).
