Expert: Bright light is probably a meteor

HOUSTON – Carolyn Sumners, director of the Planetarium at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, joined Ron Trevino and Katherine Whaley on Friday in the KHOU 11 News studio to discuss the bright light in the sky many reported seeing early Friday morning.

Sumners also serves as director of the George Observatory, which houses the Gueymard Telescope, and is an expert on astronomy, chemistry and physics. She is also an adjunct professor at Rice University.
