HIGHLANDS, Texas – Firefighters said they responded to a midnight fire Thursday that burned an elderly woman’s mobile home.
According to the Highlands Fire Department, the fire was reported on Clear Lake Road at N 11th Street. Responders were able to quickly knock down the blaze, but not before it burned most of the property.
An elderly woman in the home said she had to jump out of a window to get to safety. She was not injured.
The fire was so intense it melted part of the siding on a neighbor’s mobile home.
The Crosby Fire Department assisted with the fire. The Harris County Fire Marshal is investigating.
