HOUSTON -- The East Loop northbound was totally blocked at the Port of Houston due to a crash involving at least two heavy trucks and an SUV.

Debris, including an entire vehicle axle, spread across the roadway following the crash.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m.

As of 12:45 p.m. crews were still working to fully reopen the freeway. Only one lane of northbound traffic was getting by.

Southbound traffic was affected due to rubbernecking.
