HOUSTON -- The East Freeway inbound was shut down after a driver struck a pedestrian, killing him.
According to Houston TranStar, the incident happened near John Ralston Road shortly after 2:30 a.m. Friday.
The freeway reopened at 4:45 a.m.
Houston police said the woman who struck the pedestrian stopped her damaged SUV and called 911. She's from Florida and was just passing through town on a trip.
No charges are expected in the case.
