HOUSTON –- Houston police took two men into custody following a drug sting and chase on the northside of town overnight.

It happened around midnight Tuesday.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, undercover agents were keeping an eye on a McDonald’s parking lot where they knew two suspects were going to meet. When officers approached, the men sped away in separate vehicles.

One of the suspects stopped after a few blocks and was arrested.

The other suspect kept going to Kuykendahl and then to FM 1960. The man eventually crashed while heading westbound on 1960 at Cypress Station Drive. His car went into a flower bed and sign at the entrance to an apartment complex.

Police said the man then ran away on foot but was later found hiding the complex. A female passenger in his car did not try to run and is not facing any charges, police said.

HPD said the first suspect arrested faces a felony evading charge. The second suspect who crashed faces felony evading charges and an aggravated assault charge.

Police said no drugs were found on the men as it’s believed they may have thrown them out during the chase.
