HOUSTON – Police believe a driver wasn’t paying attention when his pickup truck left a northeast Houston roadway and hit the side of a home.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on Denmark Road at Hoffman Street.

Police said the driver failed to stop at a nearby stop sign and went through a ditch, striking the side of a home. The driver had minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.

Police said he was not intoxicated but disputed the driver’s claims that another vehicle blocked his view, causing him to wreck.

Officers issued the man several tickets while his truck was towed from the scene.

There were no reports of any other injuries.
