HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -– The driver of a Ford Mustang said someone was chasing him in a fit of road rage when he hit a road hump at a high rate of speed, causing him to lose control and crash.

It was around 11 p.m. Wednesday when the crash occurred on Hollyvale at Sellers, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the Mustang briefly went airborne after hitting the road hump. The vehicle then went sideways through a ditch and slammed into a carport and two parked trucks.

The driver told deputies he accidentally cut off another vehicle, which must have angered the other driver. The Mustang’s driver said the other car started chasing him, and he sped up out of fear.

The other car fled the scene after the crash.

Deputies said the driver of the Mustang was sent to the hospital in stable condition.
