SPRING, Texas -- A driver crashed into the front of a Spring fire station overnight, deputies said.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday on FM 2920 at Falvel Road.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a pickup lost control for unknown reasons, went through a ditch, through a small field, and then slammed into the front of Station 75 of the Spring Volunteer Fire Department.

No serious injuries were reported.

Deputies said the driver ran a few blocks away before he was taken into custody.

A passenger in the truck, who owns the vehicle, stayed at the scene. He told deputies he was looking at his cell phone at the time, and he wasn’t sure why the driver crashed.

Alcohol was not a factor in the incident, deputies said.
