HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Security guards opened fire on a driver who they said struck them with his pickup at a north side business, deputies said.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8700 block of Airline south of Gulf Bank around 9 p.m. Sunday.

A security guard said he saw a red Dodge Ram 1500 in the parking lot of the Mercado Sagadomingo Flea Market. The driver was allegedly doing burnouts and spinning his tires, so two guards approached the vehicle.

The pickup driver allegedly struck both guards, so the guards opened fire on the driver.

The driver was hit and took off to Roselane just off Airline, deputies said. He was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable condition.

HCSO is investigating the incident.
