HOUSTON – Houston police said a driver lost control of his vehicle early Thursday, causing a chain reaction crash.

It happened around 1:45 a.m. on Richmond Avenue near Tanglewilde Street, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.

A man traveling westbound in a Nissan Altima lost control, struck a light pole, drove through the grass, through a parking lot, and then into the front yard of a home. He hit a parked vehicle, which was pushed into the corner of the home, police said.

The driver got out of the vehicle but stayed at the scene. He was taken to the hospital with a large gash on his head.

No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is on-going.
