Car crashes into home
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Deputies said a driver lost control of her car at a high rate of speed early Tuesday, smashing through two fences and then hitting a home.
It happened in the 19300 block of Shiloh Creek Lane north of Katy, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a woman was driving westbound on Rebel Yell Drive behind the home when she left the roadway for unknown reasons. The car went through a chain link fence and then a wooden fence before plowing into the home’s kitchen.
Inside the residence a man was sound asleep. He told KHOU 11 News he wasn’t harmed and jumped out of bed to see if the driver was okay.
“I asked ‘Can you hear me? Can you hear me? Are you okay?’” said Mukesh Dhanani. “She says, ‘I’m okay, I just need ice.’”
It wasn’t immediately known what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle. The extent of her injuries was not known.
The family’s kitchen was a complete loss. They said they just renovated their home, and now they’ll have to do it all over again.
