HOUSTON – An east Harris County home was knocked off its foundation after a driver lost control and crashed into the side of it early Thursday.
Harris County Sheriff’s deputies said a man was driving an older-model Cadillac around 1 a.m. when something malfunctioned and he crashed into the side of a home in the 500 block of Dell Dale at South.
Three people were asleep inside the house when the car came crashing through.
“Well I just went to bed and all of a sudden – Kaboom -- the whole side of the house went crazy and we got junk fly everywhere, and I ran back there and said ‘something hit the house I guess,’” the homeowner said.
The car tore the front entry and wall of the house apart.
The driver said he did not know what caused him to lose control and the homeowner said it did not appear that any alcohol was involved. The driver was not ticketed.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
