HOUSTON -– At least one person was sent to the hospital after a car smashed into a plasma donation center in southwest Houston late Wednesday morning.
It happened around 10:20 a.m. in the 8700 block of W. Bellfort near S. Gessner, according to officers with the Houston Police Department. Patricia Flores says her friend, and her two small children were waiting in the car for her. Flores was donating blood.
"I’m in the back lying down, and I see my car flying through the window." said Patricia Flores, the owner of the car.
Patricia's friend and their two children were waiting in the car. Officers say the friend went to the store and was trying to park the car. Investigators think she hit the gas instead of the brakes. Her friend says she didn't know her friend went for a ride.
"I know it was where I parked the car this morning. , and there should've been no one in the driver seat but I thought someone hit it from the back and pushed it through the window" said Flores.
Two people were rushed to the hospital. But Patricia's worry... the children.
"I just wanted to make sure the babies were okay... the car is replaceable" said Flores.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what really happened.
The two people taken to the hospital are expected to be ok. The children were visibly shaken up. It's still unclear if the driver will face any charges.
