HOUSTON -- A 29-year-old woman was pronounced dead after she hit a tree and rolled her SUV in southeast Houston early Wednesday.
According to a statement released by the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the 8700 block of Fuqua Street near Blackhawk Ridge.
HPD said the woman lost control of her Chevrolet Trailblazer for unknown reasons. The vehicle veered off the road, went through a wire fence, and then struck a tree, which turned the SUV upside down.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no passengers, and there were no witnesses to the crash, police said. A passing motorist came across the wreckage and dialed 911.
The victim’s identity was not released.
