HOUSTON – A driver flipped his car and knocked out a fire hydrant in a crash in northwest Houston overnight.

Houston police said the crash happened around 12:45 a.m. on N. Durham Drive near the North Loop.

The driver was traveling southbound when he lost control for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree. The car flipped over, but the driver sustained only minor injuries.

The car took out a fire hydrant that caused the street to partially flood.

Police said the investigation was on-going.
