HOUSTON –- Police said a driver was taken into custody following a chase in northeast Houston shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
The chase started on Homestead Road near Little York, according to the Houston Police Department.
An officer said he tried to stop a vehicle for speeding, but the driver refused to stop. After about seven miles, the young driver pulled over and was taken into custody.
Police said two juveniles were also in the car, but no charges will be filed against them.
Police said the car was not reported stolen, but it had fake temporary tags attached over the vehicle's real plates.
