HOUSTON –- Police said a traffic stop turned into a brief chase on Houston’s southside early Thursday.
It was around 1 a.m. when an officer tried to pull over a car with expired tags for a traffic violation near McGowen and Live Oak, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.
The driver allegedly refused to stop and led police on a 10-minute chase to Highway 288. It was near the South Loop the driver lost control and flew into a grassy median.
His vehicle got a flat tire, and police said he jumped out and then tried to run away on foot. He was quickly caught and taken into custody, however.
Police said the man now faces felony evading charges.
