HOUSTON— Immigration agents were looking for more than two dozen people who were seen running from a north Houston home after police responded to a call for help.

It happened Tuesday evening in the 2400 block of Freeman.

Officers responded to a call about a woman tied up and when they searched nearby homes dozens of people scattered.   Officers canvassed the neighborhood, but said several people got away.

“It is difficult to tackle when you suspect that there were 40 individuals there and you only encounter six,” said ICE spokesman Greg Palmore. “We’ve got a problem on our hands so we are trying to seek those individuals, and as we come across those individuals, we will take them into custody.”

Investigators said they believe many of the suspects were hiding within the nearby community.
