HOUSTON – A dog that refused to leave its home during a fire was later found alive by firefighters, according to the Houston Fire Department.
The fire was reported on Joe Louis Lane at Wilburforce Street around 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to HFD.
Firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from a one-story wood frame home. They got the fire under control but not before the home was declared a complete loss.
No one was home at the time, but a neighbor managed to rescue two dogs from the home before firefighters arrived. A third dog refused to leave the home and somehow managed to survive while hiding in a back bedroom.
No injuries were reported.
