MANVEL, Texas—A Pasadena high school faculty member was found Wednesday night with a 15-year-old boy he met on Craigslist for sex, Manvel police said Friday.
Investigators said they found Benjamin Clark Childress, who works at Dobie High School, in a car with the boy around 11:52 p.m. after reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area.
Police said the boy was returned to his parents, and Childress, 26, was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Childress’ home and seized a computer, an iPad and a cell phone – all of which will be examined for evidence.
Childress was being held in the Brazoria County Jail Friday on $100,000 bond.
Police said they notified Pasadena ISD officials about Childress’ arrest, and additional charges may be filed.
