HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies said three men held up several eastside gas stations before getting in a chase with officers overnight Tuesday.

Deputies said the men hit up the Exxon station on Dell Dale Street at I-10 before moving on to a nearby Texaco. They didn’t get any cash at the Texaco, so they then went to a Valero on Wallisville Road at Dell Dale.

A deputy spotted one of the masked gunmen going into the store, and a car chase ensued.

Deputies chased the men into a nearby neighborhood where they hit parked cars and a mailbox. The driver hit a utility pole, and all three men jumped out to run away.

Two of the suspects were immediately caught, deputies said, but the third one got away. He was later spotted on the roof of a nearby home.

“As deputies approached him, he turned toward the deputy, had a weapon in his hand, a handgun,” said a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. “The deputy fired one time, missing the subject.”

The man jumped from the roof and managed to get away.

Detectives said the two men in custody may help lead authorities to the third suspect.

The men are believed to be responsible for two other robberies reported Monday night and Tuesday night, deputies said.

No injuries were reported in the robberies.
