MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are searching for three men in connection with a shooting that left a 37-year-old man dead Sunday night in the Magnolia area, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Deputies were dispatched just after 9 p.m. to a residence at the 24100 block of Zahn Road after a shooting was reported, Lt. Dan Norris said in a press release.
The shooting victim, Alfredo “Freddy” Medina, was taken by a neighbor to seek medical help after he was shot in the chest with a shotgun, the release stated.
They stopped at the Rosehill Fire Station just a few miles away on FM 2920 in Harris County. Medina was pronounced dead at the station.
Witnesses reported seeing three men drive away from the crime scene in a mid-2000 blue Honda Civic.
Medina’s body was taken to the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses and are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
