HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old man outside a northwest side CVS store.
The shooting happened in the 8900 block of Barker Cypress Road just before 10 p.m. Thursday.
Witnesses and friends of the victim told deputies that Deandre Liggins went to the store to meet someone to sell drugs. During the exchange, the buyer allegedly tried to rob Liggins. The pair struggled over a handgun, and Liggins was shot.
Liggins’ friend drove him to the hospital where he died.
The shooter fled the scene in a white Buick, but no further information about the man was available.
