HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—Two people were sent to the hospital after an angry man who was looking for his girlfriend fired shots through the front door of a north Harris County pool hall, deputies said.

The shooting happened early Monday morning at Q Stix Billiards & Sports Bar on FM 1960 west of I-45 North.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said two men and a woman were drinking inside the bar around 1 a.m. After the bar closed, one of the men left with the woman while the other man loitered outside the bar.

When the woman’s fiancé could not find her, chaos ensued.

Workers said they asked the man to leave the property, but he returned a short time later with a gun and started shouting threats from outside the front door. The man allegedly counted down and opened fire, shooting two customers who were still inside the closed business.

“We were hiding behind chairs, behind anything that we could. I was literally waiting for them to start shooting again, right on top of us through the door. We didn’t know where he was,” said Kevin Howard, an employee.

Everyone in the pool hall went to a back area and called 911 as gunshots continued to sound from the front.

“We knew exactly who he was looking for because the girl that he was with, she frequents the bar. She hadn’t been here in months. She showed up last night, he was with her and they didn’t leave together,” Will Bradford, said. “It was just a very malicious and stupid thing that he did. It was crazy.”

When deputies arrived, the suspect was gone.

The injured customers, one of whom was shot twice, were sent to the hospital.

The suspect has been arrested, but his identity has not been released.
