HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A suspected drunk driver is in custody after a person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County on Saturday.
It happened near the intersection of Huffmeister and Spring Cypress around 2:20 a.m.
Deputies said a black Mustang was traveling north on Spring Cypress when a white cargo van traveling west on Huffmeister ran a red light and t-boned the passenger side of the Mustang.
The driver of the Mustang died at the scene.
Deputies said the driver of the van, identified as Michael Giacona, smelled strongly of alcohol. He failed a sobriety test and was arrested for DWI.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office was investigating.
