Dayton student hit by truck remains in critical condition

HOUSTON—The Dayton community is coming together to support a girl who was hit by a car as she walked to school Monday.

Payge Davie, 11, was struck by a pickup truck early Monday morning on County Road 6052. She was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

She has been in the intensive care unit since the accident.

The incident is under investigation, and so far, no charges have been filed.
