AUSTIN, Texas—Rodshard Davis made two free throws with 1.3 seconds left to send Fort Bend Bush to a 45-43 overtime win over Flower Mound Marcus in the Class 5A semifinals.
Phil Forte, who had made six 3-pointers to pull Marcus back from 10 points down, fouled Davis to send him to the line. Marcus twice called timeout but Davis, who had not shot a free throw during regulation, calmly swished both while Forte stood a few feet behind him.
Bush had a chance to win at the end of regulation but DeMarcus Gatlin misfired at the buzzer. Given another chance at a final shot in overtime, Bush worked 24 seconds off the clock before Davis tried to drive the lane and was tripped.
Forte finished with 20 points for Marcus (37-3). Darius Richardson scored 19 to lead Bush (34-4) and his jump shot in the lane tied it 43-43 in overtime.
