RICHMOND, Texas -- A Texas man made it as far as the parking lot of a Houston-area hospital before helping his in-labor wife deliver their daughter. Timmy Day of Needville says he "didn’t do anything special but catch." Erin Faith Day was born Wednesday, weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces, in the family’s Ford F-150 pickup. Amber Day says she was scheduled to have labor induced Thursday, but the process began on its own a day earlier. So the Days piled into their pickup, along with 21-month-old daughter Emma, to drive the 40 miles to a hospital in Houston. The Fort Bend Herald reported Thursday that the family made it about 15 miles, to Richmond, and the parking lot of OakBend Medical Center. The 25-year-old mother delivered the child, with her 27-year-old husband acting as impromptu doctor, before paramedics could get to them.
