RICHMOND, Texas -- A Texas man made it as far as the parking lot of a Houston-area hospital before helping his in-labor wife deliver their daughter.

Timmy Day of Needville says he "didn’t do anything special but catch."

Erin Faith Day was born Wednesday, weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces, in the family’s Ford F-150 pickup.

Amber Day says she was scheduled to have labor induced Thursday, but the process began on its own a day earlier. So the Days piled into their pickup, along with 21-month-old daughter Emma, to drive the 40 miles to a hospital in Houston.

The Fort Bend Herald reported Thursday that the family made it about 15 miles, to Richmond, and the parking lot of OakBend Medical Center.

The 25-year-old mother delivered the child, with her 27-year-old husband acting as impromptu doctor, before paramedics could get to them.

Yeah, this is cool.......... only yesterday there was an article about three guys getting caught in a burglary in the Needville area and how the Fort Bend S.O. took care of that. That wasn't the best of news...........BUT, today we see this and life is good again. Congrats, Dad, Mom, and Emma.
