HOUSTON - A 57-year-old man is accused of obtaining large amounts of prescription drugs from 21 Houston area pharmacies over a two-month period, according to court records.

James Campbell, of Houston, is charged with fraudulent acquisition of controlled substance.

From May 5 to July 31, Campbell cashed in 71 prescriptions from 21 doctors at 25 pharmacies.  He obtained a total of 4,165 pills of Hyrdocodone and 2,760 pills of Soma, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Campbell was flagged under the Texas Prescription Program, which captures prescription records filled at pharmacies in order to identify fraud, according to court records.
