HFD responds to fire at SW Houston chemical plant

HOUSTON – Firefighters responded to a fire at a chemical plant Saturday afternoon in southwest Houston, fire officials said.

According to the Houston Fire Department, the fire was at the Du Pont plant located at 12701 Almeda Road. The fire is believed to have started in a machine in the back of the building.

No one was in the building at the time, but firefighters said the fire seemed to electrical in nature.

No one was injured in the fire.
