HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire that destroyed several units at a northwest Harris County apartment complex early Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. at the Village of Copperfield apartments located at the 15400 block of Point Northwest Blvd.

Views from Air 11 showed several Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department crews on the scene.  They found heavy fire and smoke coming from second floor apartments in building No. 15.

One firefighter fell as he or she climbed on top of the roof. The roof gave way, dropping the firefighter to the ground. A captain tells KHOU 11 the firefighter who fell was not hurt.

Two firefighters were treated for minor heat exhaustion on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
