HOUSTON --- The Crosby car dealer who calls himself the “Finnisher” was back in the Harris County Jail Monday after the district attorney’s office filed a bond forfeiture.

Rik Melartin is facing multiple charges of sexual assault of a minor and is now being held on no bond.

His bond was revoked because his ankle monitoring bracelet kept failing, apparently because he refused to keep the device properly charged, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office said.

Melartin is a former Olympian from Finland. He made headlines when he pulled a gun on a robber in Bellaire. He later incorporated the name ‘The Finnisher’ into his car ads for John Keating Chevrolet.

Melartin was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 30.
