ROSENBERG, Texas – The search for a Minnesota woman who’s been missing since 2007 has led investigators to a rural property north of Rosenberg.
Fort Bend County deputies and the Texas Rangers began searching Thursday for the body of Sarah Cruz on a property in the 100 block of Rustic Lane.
Investigators said with the passage of time and other life-changing events, people with information concerning Cruz’s disappearance have been more forthcoming, and those details directed them to the Rosenberg property.
Air 11 flew over the scene and spotted some investigators along the bank of the Brazos River, and others surrounding a backhoe that was digging a hole in a wooded area nearby.
Investigators did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding Cruz’s disappearance, and they did not say if the person who owns the property has anything to do with their search.
Crews from Sam Houston State University, the Fort Bend County Road and Bridge Department, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and The Earth Measurement Corporation (a private local business that specializes in electronic monitoring services) have been called in to assist with the case.
Anyone with information on Cruz’s disappearance is asked to contact Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-8477 or the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665.
