GALVESTON, Texas — One woman was injured Monday during a collision with an AAA van, authorities said.

Galveston police detoured westbound traffic in the 4900 block of Seawall Boulevard for about 30 minutes after the 1:30 p.m. collision.

A woman driving a Pontiac compact car left a shopping center into the path of the oncoming, westbound van, police said. The van crossed east lanes of traffic and stopped within feet of the seawall’s edge.

Officers enforced a no-parking zone in front of the shop during Mardi Gras weekend but said Monday’s crash didn’t involve an obstructed view.
