HOUSTON – It was a night of celebration at the Sacred Heart Co-cathedral in downtown.
More than 250 couples marked their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday evening. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo presided over the ceremony, which has been a tradition in the church for many decades.
Bob and Marjorie Anderson said marriage takes work, but is worth it.
“We got married with the idea that this is for life, this is for keeps,” Marjorie Anderson said. “I know today some couples might feel if it starts getting hard you know they just throw in the towel, not that we didn’t have certain things to overcome but basically overall we just believed that marriage is forever.”
